You will play the various human soldiers in the story. Human soldiers are the main infantry foot soldiers that defend the Kingdom from the ongoing demonic invasion.
Two of these soldiers are “lost souls” — they have died and we encounter them in Hell where they’ve been sent as punishment for their deeds in life, and where the heroes will now judge them. These are remorseful, and under the effect of a zone of truth.
The captain is a no-nonsense competent commander.
The two living soldiers are excited young warriors.

(gruff, obedient, as a soldier, as the hero lost soul) My name is Maran Temper, human fighter 6, a soldier of the Kingdom. My unit specialized in small-scale skirmishes against demon spellcasters.
(matter-of-factly, as the captain) We have staged an attack to take back the Parliament Hall but it's going poorly.
