Where's Harry
JordySword for Ted (Father)
Ted (Father)
Father or "Ted" is a 30-50 year old (flexible) man and one of the two main actors in this short student film. He like the mother is symbolic of the everyday parent that an audience member could relate to or recognize. Given the nature of this story, he also needs to portray a subtle sense of control veiled by misguided love or protection over his child although he is more the voice of reason an restraint in contrast with the mother. This role will involve switching between and exploring the nuances of care, power and the moral spectrum of parenthood.
This is a live-action short film. The actors will not appear on screen; their performances will be heard as voice-over dialogue over the live-action footage.
An important note to performers is this needs to feel like a real conversation/argument you'd have with your spouse not wanting your child to overhear. That being the case, a naturalistic performance over melodrama and exaggeration is what's needed for this role.
For your submission, you may use the audition lines or lines from another performance if you feel that better showcases your talent.
