Among his colleagues, Espio's opinionated attitude serves a key role in Team Chaotix, allowing him to reign in and balance out the more optimistic and zany behaviors exhibited by Vector and Charmy.[12] Despite his more serious demeanour compared to his colleagues, he can be prone to his own quirks, such as being conflicted on the outcome of a race in order to have some of Vanilla's victory cake, or being intrigued by Blaze's offer to come and work in the Sol Empire purely down to the idea of the pay.[15][16] He also appears to find small creatures, like Flickies, adorable.[9] It is said Espio's unique charm comes from a combination of his cute and charming - yet cool and stoic appearance. Espio's ability to be swept in his teamamates antics despite this coolness can be described as "adorable".[8]
