Backstory: Once a child soldier, Adriana and her sister were rescued by Lloyd and became their close right-hand ally. Adriana now serves as Lloyd's bodyguard and trusted partner.

Personality: No-nonsense and stoic, but around the people she trusts, Adriana is a hopeful, caring, and deeply loyal friend who will do anything for those she loves. When needed, she knows how to handle a room with a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor.

Voice Quality/Tone: Smooth, feminine; lower register. Calm and mature, a little deadpan.

Language and Accents: English (American) with some use of African-American Vernacular English (AAVE).

SAMPLE LINES:

• “Ignore it. Let Shelby earn her paycheck for once.”

• (angry) “Get off of me! I’m not just going to stand here and let them die!”

• (begrudgingly) “The one night I decide to cook…”

• “Your boy is an exceptional protégée, but you not allowing him to pursue a magical career—safe or not—isn’t going to keep him from finding a way. It sounds frustrating, but I don’t believe he would have taken that book if you’d just given him an outlet for that talent.”
