Jeffrey’s wife and daughter are somewhere under Storm Mother and he’s going to find them, teaming up with the crew to do it. What Franklin calls ‘a death wish wrapped up in a fantasy’. He used to be an engineer with a mining corp, now he’s a bundle of guilt and shame that Storm Mother has gotten her claws into. He’s educated, data focussed, still has a little flair for the dramatic presentation from his corporate powerpoint days, but he’s also exhausted. The crew are his last hope (and he is unable to admit to himself the futility of his search).

Imani called them FCE's because that woman loves her acronyms. Fast-moving Cyclonic Events. To you and me - tornadoes on steroids. This now, is a partial composite of her radar images.
