Clara Afton is the emotional backbone of the Afton family in The Ones Who Never Left. She is loving, perceptive, and strong‑willed — but her life with William has left her exhausted, conflicted, and quietly afraid. Clara is not a caricature or a melodramatic mother; she is a real woman trying to hold her family together while sensing something deeply wrong beneath the surface.

Her voice should reflect warmth strained by fear, love strained by frustration, and a growing awareness that her family is slipping away from her.
