Ms. Mary is a secretive but kind older woman who assists Reese with gathering stories. She is the primary focus of one of the episodes and shows up throughout.

  • I was born in 1959, just a few hours after midnight on January 1st. My mother got startled by the fireworks.

  • We watched as a few floats came by, people threw out candy into the crowd that we fought with other children to grab as many as we could. Huh, it’s hard to remember we were still children when it happened, I feel like by the end of that day I was all grown up.

  • The water was still, the sloshing sounds of it hitting the shore seemed muffled and further away then it was. No birds, no bugs, just silence.
