Background

Tekai is one of the oldest souls still wandering the Grimwoods.

Long before railroads, villages, and roads carved through the wilderness, he walked beneath the trees. He witnessed settlements rise from the earth and watched them vanish beneath roots and moss. He remembers names that have long been forgotten

Travelers speak of a strange figure who appears when they are lost, hungry, or desperate.

Sometimes he offers guidance.

Sometimes he offers food.

Those who follow him do not always return.

Tekai became a Wechuge not through hunger for flesh, but through estrangement from humanity. Over generations he adapted to the wilderness until he began to think and behave like the animals of the forest He learned to hunt people, a mountain lion would hunt prey.
