The "Error Macro" Myth: Ermac originally began as a legendary urban legend in the original 1992 Mortal Kombat game. The name comes from a diagnostics menu that displayed "Error Macro" as ERMACS. Fans believed it was a hidden character, prompting Midway Games to make him officially playable in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
Backstory: Originally serving as a mindless enforcer for Outworld ruler Shao Kahn, Ermac's souls were later freed, allowing him to adopt a heroic role and assist characters like Liu Kang.
