I discarded this character several times while working on Warren, Jones, and Mattie. He was suppose to be the equivalent of Bobby. Also the senior and veteran hunter within the group. He ends up dying while on a hunt, which is the reason why Warren joins. 

He was probably the person who taught Jones about the supernatural world.
