The purpose of the 2 lines is to hear your accent. You may choose any part of the monologue that you think best shows off your interpretation of the character. Do as little or as much as you'd like. Please record both lines, and your choice of a section of the monologue.

Social Media manager, since he’s the youngest and understands internet culture much better and understands the TiksToks. Gay, mid 30s, married. Met his husband, Brad, at a Panic At the Disco concert. Knitter and dyer. Research chemist, and is always trying to find new ways to dye and make colors. Other than being gay, the most standard Minnesota upbringing: Lutheran, middle class (grew up in Minnetonka), played hockey, went to the U for college, ice fishes in winter, and he and his husband take the snowmobiles out every chance they get.
Skills: Clairvoyant: he “sees” things by color. He’s hypersensitive to colors and patterns, and can see when something is wrong. Sort of like auras, but it happens in everything.

Kitty, you ladies gotta expand your taste buds! I swear you think ranch is too spicy.
Oh no, I swear the sign said green peppers! Did I mistake ghost peppers for green peppers?
I met my husband at a Panic! At the Disco concert in college. I know, it’s the gayest, most Millennial way to meet one’s spouse. Probably the only more gay, Millennial way would be over avocado toast at a coffee bar that grows its own beans. But hey, it worked, right? It took me years to tell Brad about my abilities. I mean, be me: little gay boy that loved to knit and make pretty things, in Minnesota, in the early 90s. Add being weird, with weird abilities that no one wanted to talk about, and it wasn’t fun. Freaked a lot of people out because I could always tell what was going on. Moods always show up in color: pink for excitement, blue for calmness. For some reason, horniness is always shades of green, I have no idea why. But, gray? When people appear gray? That means they don’t care. That’s the killer. It never mattered what they said, everything was gray. You ever try not being weird? I tried. I tied myself into knots when I was a teenager. I was a jock, played hockey, and was actually pretty good. Left wing, had a wicked snap shot. Meanwhile, I discovered my grandmother’s knitting and yarn stash. She secretly taught me how to knit. On my own, I discovered how to dye things. It was an attempt to control what colors I saw. It didn’t work, but it did teach me a lot about chemistry, which was great for a career. Brad never freaked out about my abilities. He thought it was cool, and we’d spend hours at Nokomis, and he’d point out people on the beach or in the park, asking what I saw. He was the first person since my grandma that made me feel…I know I’m not normal, and never will be, but with Brad we can be a nice, normal couple. Plus, since he’s an engineer, he makes the best tater tot hotdish because he calculated the perfect structure of tater tots to hotdish
