Role assigned to: Poppletron

Asgore is the king of all monsters, the final boss of the game, he forces Frisk to a fight to stop them from leaving the underground.

From what we can tell about how he sounds ingame, Asgore has a very deep voice, he should sound manly and a little old, but at the same time should denote a certain kindness and sadness in his overall tone.

I'm leaving this here in case anyone can do a better job portraying those same feelings of sadness than what's already in the animatic.

  • Howdy! How can
I-... *GASP*  (PAUSE) I so badly want to say,  would you like a cup of tea?...  But... you know how it is (PAUSE) Nice
day today, huh? Birds are singing, flowers are blooming... Perfect weather for
a game of catch! (PAUSE) ...You know what we must do, when you
are ready, come into the next room.

  • This is the barrier this is
what keeps us all trapped underground (PAUSE) If... If by chance you have any unfinished business... Please do what you must

  • Human... it was a nice to meet you... goodbye.

The tone of your voice sounds very good! Deep and raspy, good for the king indeed. The only problem I encounter is that you seem to have some trouble raising your voice to a more happy mood (something that I want for the first section of the dialogue when talking about the day and the birds, etc) I'd like to know how well you can do in case I need Asgore to show fake gleefulness (more cheerful tones), or really sad melancholic tones at the end when revealing his true intentions. I'll be waiting for your response, thanks. :)

Sure I suppose I can re-audition, I was under the impression you wanted him to sound regretful because he thinks he's gonna have to kill yet another child.

Oh yes of course, but I was planning on making his voice a key component for the viewer to tell how he's feeling. My idea was to: first make him sound happy and cheerful until he realizes it's frisk, then make him sound regretful on the "cup of tea" line, then again make him sound kind of happy on the "nice day today" line as if trying to hide his sadness and then go hesitant one more time when telling them to go to the next room. Kinda like that, CCC sadly doesn't have that kind of feature to like show how exactly I plan a character to sound like at certain points. But yes I just want to make sure how you can get around all that and show more variety in mood.
