Gender: Male
Voice Age: Late teens to early 20s
Voice Type: Medium range, slightly rough/strained tone

Character Summary:

Liu is a broken older brother caught between hatred and love. After the incident that destroyed his life, he’s spent years carrying anger, grief, and unanswered questions. He wants to hate Jeff… he tries to hate him… but deep down, he still sees the brother he lost.

He’s emotionally exhausted. His anger burns hot—but it’s unstable, constantly cracking under the weight of guilt, pain, and lingering attachment.

Personality Traits:
  • Emotionally conflicted
  • Bitter, but not heartless
  • Blunt and confrontational
  • Deeply hurt and traumatized
  • Still capable of empathy (even when he hates it)
Performance Direction:
  • Prioritize raw emotion over polish
  • Voice should feel strained, like he’s holding back tears or rage
  • Avoid constant yelling—use build-up and breaks
  • Let moments of vulnerability slip through the anger
  • Important: He is NOT a villain—he’s someone who can’t move on

  • Angry / Confrontational (but emotional underneath): "You don’t get to stand there and act like you regret it! You ruined lives—mine included—and now you want to pretend you care?!"

  • Breaking / Conflicted (the core of his character): "I should hate you… I do hate you… so why can’t I just finish this…? Why can’t I look at you and not see my brother…?"

  • Quiet / Emotional (controlled, but devastating): "I came here to kill a monster… not to find what’s left of you. And somehow… that hurts more."

Hey, I liked your take on Liu—it feels a lot more grounded and controlled compared to your Jeff read, and it fits the character better.

If I had a couple notes, I think you could push it a bit more internally. Right now it feels a bit outward, so letting some of the emotion sit underneath and not fully come through could make it feel more natural.

Also adding a bit of subtle strain or small emotional cracks in certain moments could give it more depth.

But yeah overall solid direction 👍
