Angry / Confrontational (but emotional underneath): "You don’t get to stand there and act like you regret it! You ruined lives—mine included—and now you want to pretend you care?!"
Breaking / Conflicted (the core of his character): "I should hate you… I do hate you… so why can’t I just finish this…? Why can’t I look at you and not see my brother…?"
Quiet / Emotional (controlled, but devastating): "I came here to kill a monster… not to find what’s left of you. And somehow… that hurts more."
Hey, I really liked your take on Liu—it feels like a much more natural fit for you, and the tone you went with works really well for the character. The slight gruffness comes across more like tired/strained than aggressive, which fits Liu nicely.
If I had a couple small notes, I think you could push it a bit more internally in places—like it feels less like you’re addressing someone else and more like you’re almost thinking out loud or holding things in.
Also, letting a few moments crack slightly emotionally (without going over the top) could add a bit more depth, especially on heavier lines.
And just tightening the pacing slightly in certain spots could help give some words a bit more weight.
But yeah overall really strong take 👍
Thank you for the praise and extensive feedback. I was thinking about adding some auditory queues but decided on getting the dialogue out clean first. Happy to do takes until your vision is reached.
