The Crying Child Series
John1527 for Timothy Wright ( Masky )
Character: Timothy Wright (Masky)
Voice Type: Male, mid–low range (young adult)
Accent: Neutral (General American preferred)
Personality:Masky is intelligent, analytical, and highly controlled. He operates with a constant sense of pressure, often acting as the one keeping everything from falling apart. He has little patience for incompetence and tends to come off as blunt or irritated—but rarely loses control completely.
He isn’t outwardly emotional or dramatic. Instead, his tension shows through subtle frustration, sharp wording, and a tired, overworked tone.
Performance Direction:
- Natural, grounded delivery (avoid exaggerated or “edgy” acting)
- Calm and controlled tone, even when irritated
- Authority comes from composure, not volume
- Slight underlying fatigue or stress is encouraged
- Occasional sharpness when pushed, but don’t overdo anger
Important:Masky should feel like a real person under pressure—not a stereotypical “creepy” character. Keep the performance restrained and believable.
“Please prioritize natural delivery over dramatic performance.”
- male young adult
- animation
- general american
(controlled irritation, authority) “You’ve already wasted too much of my time. Just tell me what the matter is. Now.”
(calm, analytical) “No body parts were missing… which rules out most of the obvious explanations.”
(frustration slipping through briefly) “Give me a break—for once I don’t need more problems on my desk.”
Hey, I liked your take on Masky—it feels controlled and grounded, which fits him well.
If I had one small note, I think you could push the intensity a bit more in certain moments. It feels a little safe at times, so adding some sharper or more unpredictable beats could really elevate it.
But overall really solid 👍
thank you for the feed back and i took a listen to my audition and yeah it does sound safe but if you want i could try another take.
