ABOUT THE GAME

Drone Commander is a hybrid RTS / RPG / Visual Novel sci-fi game with a massive cult following — over 1 million+ views across platforms, with fans deeply engaged in the characters, story, and worldbuilding.

This is an indie project with a passionate community, and our cast is one of the game's biggest draws.

CHARACTER: ROGER BANES

Roger Banes is the public face of the Foundation of Man — former head of US national security, now the installed interim President of the United States after the FOM-led coup. He's the one giving the televised broadcasts to humanity, standing next to Neph on camera and calling her "Earth's greatest ally." On-screen he's the voice of reason in a moment of crisis: statesmanlike, patriotic, reassuring.

Off-screen, he's a Principal, he's running the coup, and he's personally negotiating with Neph over slave tribute quotas — calling her "xenos filth" under his breath while promising to deliver her a million humans every five years. He and Neph despise each other but need each other. Their private exchanges are pure venom wrapped in icy politeness — like a Bond villain's pillow talk.

He is middle-aged, ex-CIA, smooth, unflappable. Thinks of himself as the only adult in the room. Genuinely believes he's saving humanity.

• Voice Style: American, middle-aged, smooth, resonant. Authoritative broadcast register — the kind of voice you hear on Sunday morning political shows. Presidential cadence. Think a baritone newscaster with a politician's rhythm.
• Public tone (broadcasts): Paternal, reassuring, statesmanlike. The patriotic delivery — measured pauses, emphasis on words like "unity," "citizens," "together." A man who has practised every sentence in a mirror.
• Private tone (off-camera with Neph): Dry, contemptuous, clipped. The public warmth evaporates entirely. Still controlled — he never yells — but the venom is right there. He genuinely hates her. She genuinely hates him. They're flirting the way black widows flirt.
• Reference touchstones: Jon Hamm at his most controlled, Kiefer Sutherland in 24-era presidential mode, Jeffrey Wright, Peter Coyote, Sam Elliott if he were a villain. For the private scenes — Frank Underwood (Spacey in House of Cards) without the Southern accent.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a recurring major antagonist with significant screen time. Banes appears in televised broadcasts to the player, private exchanges with Neph (some of the game's most quoted dialogue), and key political cutscenes throughout the campaign.

If selected, you will:

• Be cast as the official voice of Roger Banes (recurring role with extensive future scripts in development).
• Be considered for other prominent roles in the cast.
• Have the option to participate in a text-based fan Q&A (fans love connecting with the cast).

Public broadcast — the patriotic statesman

• "My fellow citizens of the USA and the world, my name is Roger Banes. Until recently, I was charged with national security until these heinous events unfolded."
• "I, along with my counterparts in all major nations, have been aware of this perfidy. Together we formed the FOM and have now assumed emergency control of our governments."
• "This isn't about me. I don't want to be in this seat any longer than I need to. With the threat we face, nations don't matter anymore — but we are still a democracy."
• "It's my hope that once you witness these stark realities, we'll make the right choice together, and move towards the endpoint of all advanced species — a unified, single world government. To become the Foundation of Man."

Dark broadcast — the prelude speech, blaming the Vanguard for forges arriving on Earth

• "Dear citizens, I regret to inform you that we are now under attack. The process of planetary consumption has begun."
• "This is earlier than planned, and solely down to the reckless genocidal bombardments carried out by the Vanguard and Straker."
• "These are NOT innocent people. They are deviants, fascists, and convicted criminals — the worst of us. They've had their chance. For us to survive, hard choices must be made."

Private — with Neph (icy contempt)

• "It will work. If anything, the confusion buys us time to consolidate power."
• "Hmph. Xenos filth."
• "If it wasn't for my intervention you'd have messed this all up. A show of force was never going to work. From now on, let us do the coordination."
• "Keep this up, and one day — I promise — your skull will decorate my office as a paperweight."
• "As long as you agree to allow those on our list to flow through to Terra Nova, I don't care what you do with the rest… except—"

NSFW

No. His themes are dark — coup politics, human trafficking, political murder — but nothing sexual.

Potential for character growth, but would not exceed flirting (with Neph — and their "flirting" is mutual death threats). All SFW.

Note on future work: In the event of any sequels or expansions where NSFW content becomes part of the character, you are under no obligation to voice those scenes. We would either work with you on terms you're comfortable with, or recast those specific scenes with a separate VA. Your original performance and character ownership are not affected either way.

PAYMENT

~$40–$60 for under 8 minutes of dialogue. (Can stretch to $90 for the right fit.)
