Conrad was born before the war in London before the decay of the EU. During a riot during the collapse of Britain he was mortally wounded after being trampled, he was rushed to the hospital and was sent to the Cambridge Institute of Technology where his memories were extracted before his body died. The Institute brought him back as a generation two prototype synth after two prototypes escaped but he escaped into the wasteland after they conducted tests on him. He tried to make his way to California where he heard from people the NCR would take care of him, he trekked miles through America trying to find his way there for five years while being trailed by the Iron Hunter, eventually finding himself in the Iceberg.
