A small girl that appears to have been left behind by her peers both physically and literally. She is a soft and gentle girl, as well as the only normal character in the entire series. Kaori, and her representation of normality in this series, is critically important to the deeper themes of both the movie and manga.
Kaori should sound meek and small, but not particularly girly or childlike. Think of being an awkward middle-schooler again.
"Everyone's been worried about you. They thought you were dead." [quiet]
" W-where's Tetsuo?" [nervous] [shy]
"Hey, look some bikes. Is that Kaneda and... wha? No, it isn't!" [confused] [scared]
