Manuel "Manny" Calavera is the main protagonist of Tim Schaefer's, Grim Fandango.  He works as travel agent in the Land of the Dead as punishment for his sins in the Land of the Living.

Manny was originally voiced by Tony Plana, portraying the character with a Spanish accent and a sarcastic, and usually pessimistic tone, in the baritone range.  Again, you do not need to impersonate the original voice actor.  I just want a similar tone and delivery style of how Plana performed the character.

  • My story?  Sorry, I don't like dwelling on my past life.  I'm just trying to pay my time and get out of here.

  • (Sarcastic) Oh, don't let me stop you.  Go on.  I want to hear the punchline to this.

  • So...do you need me to find something for you to do or are you good over there?

I know the accent isn't perfect, but I like to think the tone and depth is a lot closer to the original actor than the other auditions here (no offense to the other actors)

    Lol! I love your take on Manny. Very well done. ^^ I thought the accent was fine. Not as accurate as how I'd normally hear it, as the R's actually stand out when used in a suffix, like "here" or "there." (I hope I'm making sense because I dunno how else to describe it.) My only other feedback is that I thought the second line could've been a little more enthusiastic, but still fake enough to sound sarcastic. Like, a slightly higher tone, in other words.
