Manuel "Manny" Calavera is the main protagonist of Tim Schaefer's, Grim Fandango.  He works as travel agent in the Land of the Dead as punishment for his sins in the Land of the Living.

Manny was originally voiced by Tony Plana, portraying the character with a Spanish accent and a sarcastic, and usually pessimistic tone, in the baritone range.  Again, you do not need to impersonate the original voice actor.  I just want a similar tone and delivery style of how Plana performed the character.

  • My story?  Sorry, I don't like dwelling on my past life.  I'm just trying to pay my time and get out of here.

  • (Sarcastic) Oh, don't let me stop you.  Go on.  I want to hear the punchline to this.

  • So...do you need me to find something for you to do or are you good over there?

Very nice performance! Loved the Spanish accent and pitch for Manny. :) The only thing I would say is that I thought the delivery was just a little too cheery for the character and expected a little more pessimism in tone. But otherwise, nice work.

    Thank you very much for the feedback, my first ever attempt with the Spanish accent, so I'm glad it was accepted well! Would you like me to try a second take with more of a pessimistic tone, or are you happy with just hearing the accent and pitch? :D
