Within the manuscript Karkat wrote, Nepeta attends Camp Sgrub with her friends. Nepeta initially tries to share a bunk with Terezi before Vriska kicks her out. After Karkat breaks up their fight, Nepeta ends up sharing a bunk with Feferi. During the beach montage, Nepeta is shown wearing floaties and shown hunting fish with Feferi. Throughout the story, Nepeta often blushes around Karkat. "Dave Slider" insults Nepeta by comparing her to Garfield.

Later that night, Nepeta joins others in drinking "drugs," which she notes tastes a clawful lot like root beer. When a bear shows up, Nepeta is the only troll who does not appear afraid.

At dawn, when "Big Cal" sells Camp Sgrub to Camp Sburb, Nepeta appears ready to fight. When Vriska saves the day by revealing she has the secret treasure, Nepeta calls Vriska a good purrson. When Nepeta is threatened by the bear again, she remains unfrightened and Equius finally stands up for her. Nepeta sheds a tear at this show of loyalty and uses him as a jumping platform to summersault onto the bear's back to murder it. Nepeta drools over the corpse when Kanaya cuts it in half with her chainsaw. Later, at a bonfire, Nepeta eats a slab of meat, presumably from the bear.
