The inquisitive protagonist of the Mortuary Chronicles. Naomi is a cheery and excitable woman, who has an intense fascination with things morbid and dark, especially that of true crime. She’s well meaning in her pursuits, but has no idea how insensitive she can come across. Naomi doesn’t view many cases as that of the real lives and deaths of actual people, seeing it more like one would view juicy gossip. She struggles to employ true self awareness, since she has never experienced anything like the stories she reads herself. She’s not at all malicious, rather, encouraged by the online environment she’s around to view such horrors in an insultingly superficial way. She cares a lot about fashion and fun, and is determined to stop at nothing to uncover and share the happenings of this tragic event near her hometown. Even if she ends up far deeper than she ever would have expected. Or wanted.
