The Father of "Professor Codex" in our production. A highly respected man of science, he tried his best to raise Codex after his wife walked out on them. He is wise, albeit a bit oblivious to some basic human emotion and queues. Very passionate about his work, he has a hard time managing his life outside of it.

Currently, he hasn't heard from his daughter in years, ever since she joined the "Cult of the all playing", and had to cut all ties with family. In his old age, he has sunken into depression, and wants nothing more than to be able to speak with and hug is little girl once more.

He must come off as very articulate, able to have a stern, intellectually air about him. On the flip side, must also be tender when dealing with his family.

He's definitely an older gentleman, so please, make sure your voice comes off as such! If you just give me an audition that sounds like a regular dude/teenager, it won't be a good fit for the role!

  • [With a scholarly air] "The black holes of nature are the most perfect macroscopic objects there are in the universe: the only elements in their construction are our concepts of space and time."

  • [With Fatherly kindness] "Fret not, Shirley. All will be well, I promise  you. We must be strong. Mama hasn't forgotten about you. You'll always  be in her heart, as you will be in mine. Now, come, the dusk is coming to a close. Let's get you into bed, my dear.

Great audition, and precisely the type of vibe and pitch I had in mind for this character. Shoot me a message if you're still interested in the project (longish term role, mind you) and I can get a script ready within a week from your casting!
