[Avarius begins a test among group of trainees telling them they will not fight, rather they must engage in a test of spirit. His voice is loud and commanding]

'Your foe is fit only for death, Any man who shuns the gods shuns life itself.'
[Avarius commands Yaran to slay his enemy. He speaks as if proclaiming a universal truth]
