Muzu is the head of the Zora Council, a figure of presence despite his frail size. He is one of the eldest Zora in the domain, a Zora who finds their race ever so slightly superior to other races, with a slightly extra prejudice towards Hylians, finding them bull-headed, foolish, and greedy. All in all, he is a stubborn, very old man with a slight elitist problem. Despite these frustrations with the Hylians and the occasional unintelligent fool, he usually is skilled at hiding these, usually keeping a very professional, high standing councilman persona, that persona breaking when it comes to the loss of Mipha.

While Muzu doesn’t have any voice lines, he does have sound effects and gasps, all of which sound a bit higher pitched and raspy with age. His voice is up to interpretation, but I personally see his voice as this, with a noticeably clear speaking voice to accentuate his status. While I want higher pitched, I don’t want ear splitting high. I want a slightly higher pitch with a gruffness in the back of his throat from age. Maybe his voice gets higher the angrier he gets?

  • Line 1: *This is the context. Find the actual lines below*

(In this in-game BotW scene, this is when Muzu realizes Dorephan is still going to ask Link for help, despite Link (in Muzu’s mind) being the cause of Lady Mipha’s death.)

  • Line 2: *This is the context. Find the actual lines below.*

(This is a rambling of Muzu’s how he blames the Hylians. This is one of his most angry moments, but loses steam when he finally says out loud that Mipha was killed.)

  • Line 3: *This is the context. Find the actual lines below.*

(This is the in-game moment when Muzu finally accepts asking Link for help. This is after he is told Mipha was in love with him. He reverts back to his proper self, more professional and calm. Though you can tell he doesn’t like Link, for his people, he will set that aside.)

The sides they read from:
  • Line 1: (Angry. Getting worked up.) || King Dorephan! My Liege! Please do not speak so! To ask a Hylian for help… Why, the very thought of it had already curled my fins, even more having to accept and go along with this plan, but him of all people? The Hylian Champion? We cannot trust these lowly Hylians, especially this one!

  • Line 2: (Angry. Furious. Calms when sadness overtakes at the end) || A century prior, their king abused the power of the ancient civilization meant to protect us, their princess failed at her duties to unlock the Sealing Powers in time and allowed the Calamity to run rampant, while this one—their Champion— ran from the battle to save himself instead of the kingdom! It is them who allowed Hyrule to turn into what it is today! It is him who left us in such a state! That isn’t even the least of it! It was him who… Him who… It is his fault…all of their faults…that Lady Mipha was lost to us…

  • Line 3: (Calmed. Proper. Focused. Returning to his usual grumpy but professional self) || I still do not approve of requesting help from a Hylian, but I suppose it is our only option. I am a proud Zora, meaning I must take responsibility for my unwarranted behavior toward you. I do, in fact, know where you can find an abundance of shock arrows. But, don’t get too excited. It may be a solution, but it is a dangerous one, almost as dangerous as trying to stall the Divine Beast itself. That tall mountain over yonder… That is Ploymus Mountain, and it is there you will also find Shatterback Point. That is where your shock arrows await you.
