Role assigned to: The REAL Steve Rogers

As the high priest and acting instructor of a post-apocalyptic cult centered around theater, Opitz has a pronounced melodramatic streak, often breaking into spontaneous soliloquies and using extremely stilted and verbose language even for everyday conversations. This habit of his - as well as his infamous temper - is only further compounded by the fact that he is being drugged and brainwashed as part of a sinister plot to depose the cult's leader.

Any American accent would be fine, but if you'd like to try your hand at a pseudo-Shakespearean British pronunciation, you're more than welcome to give it a go.

NOTE: this character uses a bunch of Greek and Latin terminology. Text-based directions for the intended pronunciations will be provided.

Importance: side character.

Line Count: ~110.

Voice description:

  • {Wild-eyed}And what's this? Another bedraggled stray seeking wisdom in these holy halls? No. I can tell you’re cut from a different cloth than these indolent mollycoddles.

  • (Reminiscing about his now-lost, forbidden love) He was... my muse. Vivacious, bright-natured Peter. A Satyr. My {Ahm-pellows}Ampelos, my {ah-mah-Tor}amator. Dead, dead ere his prime!

  • (About to go stab someone with a prop sword) Yes! The anvil of justice is planted firm, and I shall smite the fiend on it! Huzzah!

Thank you very much for your auditions, James, enjoyed both of them! Things were really competitive due to the overall number of auditions, but I could see you being a good fit for some of the upcoming parts in round no. 2, so I'd love to hear more from you then!
