Description: Catherine Joyce "Cath" Portillo is one of the characters in Until Then. She is often seen alongside Mark Borja as one of the two poster characters for the game. 

Catherine is young Filipina girl with brown eyes and sports short brown hair with long side bangs. She also wears a bandage on the bridge of her nose. 

Catherine is seen to maintain a bright attitude and friendly demeanor towards her friends and classmates throughout the game. She will take any opportunity to tease and banter amongst her friends, however allows for the same treatment to be shared towards her. 

We learn later in the game that she lives in an abusive environment, however she actively tries to avoid pursuing any mentions towards her personal life whenever someone brings up the topic and even going as far as to hide a bruise on her arm later in the game. Catherine is afraid of her parents and is seen to be extremely cautious towards provoking them, despite wanting to spend as much time with her friends as possible, to the dismay of her family’s strict parenting approach.

 3) “Ridel, I swear to God! Once I discover your love interest… I’ll endlessly haunt your existence with never-ending mockery. Mark my words! You too Mark, uh, mark my words!” 

 (Sincere, hurting, depressed) 

 1) “Say, have you ever wondered… How butterflies fly under the rain? They’re powerless against this powerful force. They just…hide…wherever they can. They…they get tattered. Or even die.” 

 2) “You guys worked so hard and I... I wanted to shine, too.” 

 3) “I kinda see myself being a racer… Or maybe a sprinter someday. You know, someone who’d always go first. Someone who’d be ahead of everyone. I guess… If life was only as easy as this… Maybe I’d believe you.”
