The Bard is an enigmatic figure who simply showed up near the school one day claiming he was heading to a music competition when his carriage broke down.
He’s a wily, sly man with a taste for music, sarcasm, and praise. If you get him talking too long, he’ll probably insist you sit down and listen to his more ‘experimental’ tunes. God help you.

Line 1 (Needlessly dramatic): I… am the Bard of the Inked Wastes! I hail from those lands of black! Where blankets of velvet sands and lightless waters stretch unending! Where caves hold the most dangerous of creatures!
Line 2 (Sarcastic): When you're a mysterious, rebellious traveling performer like me, you're usually the first one to be accused of anything that goes wrong in town. But I can assure you, little teacher's pet, that my business is almost entirely above-board.
Line 3 (Melancholic as he relates the story of his past): I was born in an above-ground mining town. But I was orphaned by the war as a teenager, had to live on scraps and begging for while. Used my talents to build up a musical reputation. But one night, my best friend, who worked as a miner, was taken by the Surge. I decided to move to Maika and see if I could help the Cleansers retrieve him from the tar.
