Menel was once a normal variant of Marowak owned by a member of Team Skull, but in one fight, he was fatally wounded, and killed in the process. A storm resurrects him, but in the process of it, he had also been converted into an Alolan variant. Since his day of death he hated Team Skull, yet still continued to take habits from his trainer, such as his gangster dialect shared with Team Skull members. He's arrogant lots of the time, but he keeps his lighter side hidden behind this attitude.
