This character suffered a major tragedy when fighting a demon alongside his sister, Rachel Knight. This resulted in a crushed oesophagus, leading to extensive reconstruction surgery. It was also during this time that they completed their transitional surgery. After they recovered, he took a long sabbatical, and that is when he met his husband.
