When Zelda was a child, her teacher tried to warn her about the danger of the world of darkness, informing her that the shadows are enemies of the world of light.

  • (firmly) Princess Zelda, you must not! I cannot let you see these things... (sighs wearily) The Wicked One's evil was sealed in the Twilight Realm to ensure that it would never again return.

  • (quietly, ominously) Princess, when you gaze into the shadows, the shadows also gaze back into you. And thus, the darkness engulfing the shadows is able to sneak into the light. That is why you must not be tempted by the shadows...
