HENRY (2 Seasons) - the Strega's pilot
Mid-late 20's, Ambitious, confident as a pilot, out of his depth as a leader (can be weak or prickly) American (not a Southern accent)
Nominally in charge of the crew, Henry is an ineffectual manager, a weak leader, although his intentions are good. His lack of confidence partly stems from a sense of being in the shadow of his missing - presumed dead - former captain, Devereaux, and it is his fixed hope that he will find out what happened to her. This sense of hero-worship and endeavour underpin his motives and actions, meaning he struggles to convey adequate authority amongst the crew, particularly with Franklin and Alice, the older members.
Henry had a normal family life until he was done for illegal Terms & Conditions consulting when he was a teenager and disappeared into the prison system for three years. He returned home to find his family dead from the latest pandemic. Devereaux took him under her wing and taught him to be a jockey (a pilot or driver). She was a very strong mentoring figure to him, and he still can’t accept she is actually dead as her body was never found. This need to know is a weakness that will be used against him. He is attracted to Roya though it will be season two before that progresses.
Henry is a young, straightforward guy. He doesn’t really have the experience to be captain of the crew and sometimes this shows in irritation, indecision, or overconfidence. He is very keen to complete the job to prove his leadership abilities, even when cutting and running might be the better choice.
Line 1 setting: Strega interior: think of a fast, noisy, cramped armoured vehicle, other crew members are in touching distance behind you. You're strapped in, driving this thing fast as you're under attack. You're under stress, speaking in a slightly raised voice to be heard over the background noise.
Line 2 setting: Apartment interior, a safe house. You're standing, looking over Roya's shoulder at her laptop screen. Her cameras have picked up a guy in the building acting suspiciously. You're relaxed, just finished breakfast, intrigued more than anything, but professional enough to treat him like a possible threat.
Line 3 setting: Strega interior, engines are off but it's cramped with four people in it. The crew have been discussing next steps and you're getting a little exasperated with them. It's obvious to you that you've got to stick to the plan.

1. I’ve got visual on the rear chaser. It’s a landship, closing fast. Alice, I’ve got sensors rebooting all over the place.
2. Notice though how he always keeps his face away from your cameras. How does he know about them? It is kinda weird. Franklin, Alice: perimeter check.
3. Think about it. We don’t turn up with this thing, then we are in all kinds of trouble with someone. All we got to do is get to St Louis.
