Meet Zero! The first of his kind- Alpha who was born and survived past infancy, Zero was born into a military village, and sought out Jen for a desire to be granted to gift him the power to protect his village from disasters.
When a wish-granting entity named Jen gave him future sight, it was a tragic cruel joke, as it only showed him one of two unchangeable fates. Depending on his outlook on the world, the future would be pessimistic, or optimistic. His people not heeding his newfound powers warnings, they were all wiped out by the very disaster he foresaw, leaving him the only survivor.

The future is like the scope of my guns barrel... precise and with crystal clear aim. You think fate is some ocean current that changes with the wind and waves? Optimism isn't equal to intelligent. Future events are a coin toss. You win... or you lose. I shoot to win. I see the outcome where I win. ... and I don't think you want to see the outcome where we all lose.
The curse I carry has its merits... it has its burdens. We all carry burdens with us from the moment we can formulate thoughts. Look deep inside you, what curse do you bear? (apathetic tsk) I shouldn't be expecting adolescent idealists to understand this. You will fight for a better world... That world simply doesnt exist.
