If you don't already know who Maria is I'm gonna put her character bio from Sonic Channel and Shadow Gens for safe keeping.
Sonic Channel:
A bright young girl who is the granddaughter of Professor Gerald.
Born with a frail constitution and afflicted by an incurable illness, she moved to the space colony “ARK” for treatment. There, she lived with Shadow as if they were siblings, but she lost her life after being caught up in a certain incident.
Shadow Generations:
The granddaughter of Professor Gerald, a fragile girl with a strong and pure heart on the inside. A cousin of Dr. Eggman.
She was sent to the ARK for treatment of her illness and grew up with Shadow as if they were siblings.
She dreamed of one day being cured and returning to the Earth she loved and missed so much, but when she became the tragic victim of a catastrophic accident at the ARK’s research establishment, her hopes were entrusted to Shadow.
For a reference of the voice I want you to imitate here's a playlist with all Sonic games in Japanese. Sonic X in Japanese is also a good reference.
Maria is in the early days just seen as a sick little girl but in recent times we find out that she's a energetic girl who's always comforting Shadow when she can. Usually she ignores he sickness by staying the positivity that everyone needs and having that child like innocence too. She's around 12 so it makes sense. Her voice is also a soprano.
