Last Summer in Maine
Tarek Esaw for Lucas
Side character, 11-13 year old boy, looking for black actors. Must sound young - men and women both can apply.
Lucas is a camper who struggles to fit in and is keenly aware of it. He is autistic and a "problem child", putting up a silent exterior when confronted but is genuinely a curious and kind kid when treated well. Lucas is attached to his counselor Robin, a fellow outcast, but Robin grows frustrated with Lucas's behavior and the two chafe.
His oddity is portrayed through his ability to see magic around him. Lucas likes to take photos with his disposable camera, especially of the magical creatures he can see.
This role is paid $3/line, including retakes. The total would be anywhere starting from $15 (5 lines).
