Hi Katrina, took a listen to your stuff, and I really like what I heard. Lot's of good dramatic range. If you're still interested, i've got a few test lines for you to read. Below i'll post a bit about this portion of the story and the characters, and a portion of the script for some context, and i'll put the test lines i'd like you to read in bold. Let me know if you have any questions

This portion of the game will be set in 2015, with a young husband and wife living in the apartment. They are both living a happy 2015 existence, until Mike the husband goes on a solo camping trip and everything changes. 

Mike comes home from the trip early and is completely convinced that he was abducted by aliens while camping in the mountains. He’s confused, scared and completely shuts down, refusing to tell his wife Jenn what he believes happened to him. Eventually after much confusion with his odd behavior Jenn finally confronts him and he tells his story, which Jenn doesn’t believe. They have always been proud skeptics and she is convinced he is having a mental episode. His delusions (or convictions) grow stronger and she eventually moves out and he eventually reaches a point beyond help.

In this story, i’m trying to thread the needle on having it be plausible that he's telling the truth that he was abducted by aliens and leave the audience without a full answer on whether he’s just completely crazy or he’s telling the truth.

I’ll post a little excerpt from the script below for you to take a crack at reading, in this scene Mike finally tells Jenn what he believes happened to him. It's an emotional scene, so don’t be afraid to put a little feeling into it (without being unrealistically dramatic). 

I’ll post a good chunk of the script just to give you some context but you can just read what I put in bold.

“Jen: Ok you need to tell me what’s going on, you’ve been acting completely insane since you came back from your camping trip and I need to know what happened to you, right now.

Mike looks at her for a moment then looks down.

Mike: I… uh... there was…

Jen: What Mike? What happened?

Mike I.. I think I was abducted by aliens.. 

Jen: Haha (disbelief laugh) what?

Mike: uhh (exasperated) I know it sounds ridiculous.. But I.. it’s what happened.. They took me Jen.

Jen: Wha,, are you joking right now? Haha (nervous laughter) Tell me what actually happened

Mike: That is what happened Jen… I had set up my campsite, way up the mountain in the middle of nowhere. It was around 11 pm, I was sitting by the fire and I looked up in the sky and saw this really.. bright star, but it was like moving around, like zig zagging. I thought it was some sort of optical illusion, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. And then suddenly.. it just stopped. It felt like it like noticed me, like it was watching me… then like a moment later it was just.. above me and it was so big and bright, it was this big metallic seamless disk.. And I just remember feeling calm, like I didn't have any fear. Then I was just suddenly.. on the ship, and there was 6 of them, I was laying on this metal table and they were surrounding me, they were short and skinny like little kids, then I looked in his eyes.. and he was just in my head, and he just instantly knew everything about me, and i could feel… I could just feel his intelligence…he was so far above me Jen, he just.. Knew everything… And that’s when all the fear came back… and they put something over my mouth and put.. put me to sleep.. 

Then I woke up in my tent, I felt so thirsty and weak, and they were gone. And i don’t know what the fuck it means, and i dont’ know why it happened, but it fucking happened.

Jen: I..I don’t know what…

Mike: You believe me though right? It happened Jen.

Jen: I .. I believe you believe it happened to you.. I just.. I think we should get you to speak to someone about this…”
