A true friend, which is amazing because she lacks quite a bit of life experience in that department. Iris grew up in a family of politicians. The granddaughter of the prime minister of her tiny, practically nonexistent country. For the brief moment in between the day to day of studying, and the subsequent announcement of the death game - that liiiiittle portion of time where she was just a kidnapping victim but not under direct threat - she found herself having fun, getting to make all these new friends at once! Where she inadvertently shines is when hard decisions have to be made. Sometimes it can be helpful to be a bit of a diplomat.
