Marine is Augustus' best friend and a former palace guard/mermaid. She moved to the human world to pursue her dreams of becoming a stunt double in blockbuster films. Now, her new dream is to make rent. 

She works as a cashier at WcBonalds and allows Augustus to crash at her place on the condition that he helps her pay the rent. She lands him a job at a top ad agency by calling in a very uncomfortable favor to her ex, who works as Mason's secretary at the company.

VOICE:  Marine has a slightly deeper voice, but that's because she's trying to act tough. She gives delinquent energy, who secretly has a heart of gold. She shouts a lot, and you can tell that she used to be lively, but now she's jaded and pessimistic. Also a tsundere, "It's not like I'm friends with you or anything", that kind of embarrassed energy. If you can capture Marine's loveable yet false machismo, I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER TYSM!!

TL;DR She acts as if she doesn't care about Augustus or thinks he's stupid, but in reality she worries for him and sees parts of her past self in him. 

Voice Lines (PICK ANY 3):

1. "He's not a friend...he's just a renter. In fact, if I let him out on the streets, he'd just get duped by people who are even worse than I am. Really, that guy's so slow, he'd frustrate any scammer to death. His stupidity is a national level threat. In that sense...I'm just doing my civic duty. So it's not because we're friends or anything, don't get it twisted."
2. (weary/bored): "Welcome to WcBonalds, will you be using the mobile app today......Ok, what would you like to order."
3. - MARINE: "Recently i've taken in a stray cat. He has black fur, blue eyes, and he keeps eating random crap off the floor."
   - AUGUSTUS, in the middle of eating random crap off the floor: "What are you saying Marine? I've lived here for months and you don't have a cat!"
   - MARINE: "Yeah...a goldfish is more like it."
4. "You don't understand Augustus. Dreams almost never come true the way you want them to. Some never come true at all. Not everyone was raised with a silver spoon like you were. Not everyone's coddled by their father, or has amazing powers, or has endless optimism. Sometimes, it's OK if your dream is just to eat a tasty sandwich, or score a nice pair of shoes, or make enough to pay the rent this month. Ever since I came to the human world, those are the types of dreams I have. The only dreams I have are realistic. The only dreams I have are when I'm wide awake.
5. (to Augustus) "YOU IDIOT! You can't talk about that, what if people hear you! (sighs) First of all, let's head inside."
6. (to Aalto, Augustus' older brother/god of wind): "I don't like you. You only ever cared about yourself, and you never looked out for anyone else. But your brother's dying. He still sees you as his big brother, and like some sort of idiot, he fully believes living and dying for this stupid dream and stupid love story is totally his fault. And it's not. You know it's not. You're the all-powerful god of wind....So do something, you jackass."
