The Rapture
Aiden for [Redacted Two]
For privacy and spoiler reasons, this name has been hidden.
The final of the three main protagonists, he is perhaps to most plot significant role in the project- a man in his early twenties (the same age as Theodore).
One of the main group, he is a character of two very distinct sides- the human, and the Tainted. Because of this, he demands two completely opposite styles of performance- almost like Jekyll and Hyde.
The first- his true self. A frightened man using coldness and social isolation to protect himself from harm. Emotionally turned off, despite wanting nothing more than connection, out of fear of what he could do to others and the harm he is capable of. Kind, but stifled, he tries his best to be what is needed of him- but with each day is actively hiding how much the world is tearing him in two. Sickly in health, and in mind, all he wishes for is someone to hold him close. Something for forever. And safe.
The second- The Tainted. A grotesque, mindless killer. Almost a Vampyr- if the body reacted as it should to the consumption of blood, and the insatiable hunger of a beast. This version does not speak, but communicates through sound. This is up to you to decide- but it must not be pleasant, or even bearable to here. It is pure horror. He is most alike a Vampyr, but far more animalistic and in no way controlled. Whether this is more alike a Clicker or the undead, or more snarling and hysterical- it is your decision! All that is important is that he has no control in this moments, and becomes one of two halves- desperately fighting for control. And for blood.
He is one of the roles most involved in the darkest plots, and the role is incredibly emotional, and could be difficult at times because of the subject matter- mostly centred on his Taint, and constant fear of harm. If you plan to audition, just make sure this is something you can work with!

[Defensive, paranoid] What…? Stop. Stop it. Don’t- don’t look at me like that.
[Softer, nervous] Is this… alright? If- if you don’t want me close, just say. I’ll leave. Promise.
[Try out some creature sounds!]
