X showed much promise as a Junior Pokémon Trainer before the pressure from the public caused him to shut himself away. His friends struggle to connect with him and understand his inner turmoil. He cares very deeply for his friends and his Pokémon despite being away from them for years.
His voice should feel emotionally distant, but not devoid of emotion. He is a very empathetic individual who grows into himself throughout the story.

[To his Pokémon] - "You're mad at me too, aren't you, Kanga..? ...and Li'l Kanga..? It's no surprise. I left you with Tierno all these years while I hid from everything."
[Angrily, grabbing Tierno's shirt] - "Do you think it's fine to invade my privacy, Tierno?! Don't decide things for me. It's my decision to make!"
[Rattled, slight undercurrent of determination] - "I want to find out more about this Mega Evolution thing now. How do I trigger the transformation..? What is it that I need to do..?"
