The Mage Pocket: Apprentice Alliance (Full-Cast Audiobook 2025)
Anna Faye for Sorrel Willick
1/2 POV protagonists
12-year-old female
The unruly daughter of the heads of the mage council, Sorrel spends most of her time pretending she doesn’t care about the expectations surrounding her. Nope. Not one bit. She’s far too busy playing pranks, losing to her cousin Dasan in chess, and “accidentally” setting things on fire.
That is, until she learns about the death of her parents…
Sorrel is chaotic, loud, passionate, and reckless. She is generally happy, easily angered, and unafraid to show her feelings (even at rather unhelpful times). Although she poses a confident exterior, Sorrel is quite insecure at times, especially in her ability to cast spells, or rather, the lack thereof. She is fiercely loyal towards the people she cares about, fiercely hateful towards her enemies, and uses a slew of creative insults she has proudly made up herself, such as “zooks” or “you absolute doorknob” or “beetle-brain”.
Throughout the book, she faces hardships, growth, and the whole range of emotions.

[Comically over-confident and joking around with a friend.] “Well, you would be right. I am dangerous. Very dangerous. Danger is my middle name.”
[Frustrated and defensive, escalating into anger.] “I am not, you absolute doorknob! I would be happy to learn it the safe way if you’d actually teach me! Zooks! I don’t know why you’re being this way!”
[Triumphant and proud of yourself.] “I blew up a flour shed!”
