Maiden Melody for The Toymaker
Toymaker is a mysterious entity that prompts and provokes the protagonists from behind the scenes. She has a high, gentle, lilting voice that can sound cloying at times (like a mother talking to a very small child) and eerie at others. The Toymaker is first and foremost a storyteller and is known only by her voice for some time, so she must have a voice that is both distinct (listeners would recognize her right away) and compelling (a cadence that keeps the listener's interest, especially when the Toymaker is relaying a legend or an ominous allegory).
Said in a storyteller's voice, relaying a grim fairytale: "Long ago, there lived an evil djinni, bound under a fell contract. To whomever held his cursed lamp, the djinni would grant three wishes. Those wishes, however, did not come without price."
Said in a sweetly mocking voice: "Not so unlike yourself, Thrall."
Record some laughter: a short giggle, and a longer peal of tinkling laughter. Both laughs should sound dainty and sweet, but also a bit spooky.
