Great job! I didn't notice any really significant changes at the end, other than a slight bit higher tone. What do you think changed?

I just feel like the energy wasn’t consistent throughout. It’s hard to explain, but something about it just didn’t feel the same the whole way through.

The warmth of your voice is the first thing I noticed when I clicked play on your submission, and it's very pleasant!

That aside, let's talk about projection. You have a good grasp on your articulation and enunciation. It doesn't feel rushed and your pacing is consistent, and you start out with more projection, but it trails off quickly to a more comfortable volume. The read is crisp, solid, and assertive, but the projection-aspect is where this performance wavers. You may need to take a couple steps back from your mic to help encourage yourself to project more. If you spoke at the level you have in your read to people who were on the other side of an auditorium, they would not be able to hear you, and THAT is the goal of this read.

So you know your ability to project has room to grow, let's touch base on the performance itself. As I stated before, you articulate well and you have a naturally warm voice which positively serves you with this kind of script, so let's play to that strength by adding a "smile" to your performance. You can do this by literally smiling when you read, and also by bringing your voice "upwards" instead of "downwards" when you end your sentences.

You naturally used this "upwards" technique in a couple of spots. I recommend listening back on your performance to see if you can pick out those instances and hear how it completely changed the tone of the performance. Fun fact: in voiceover terms, this "upwards" and "downwards" technique would be referred to as your "inflection".

And to add to your own comment, you definitely brought a little more enthusiasm into the end of the end. You started out with a more assertive and "matter of fact" tone that followed through most of the read until the end where your that more serious tone flipped a little (you even giggled on a word!) that brightened up the performance and ended it on a more cheerful note. This change of tone was actually quite pleasant! Nice job picking up on that change!
