Gruff, loud, and always just a few seconds from blowing a gasket, Boris is the long-suffering landlord of Charlie and Douglas’s building—and one of the few things standing between them and total collapse. He constantly threatens to kick them out for late rent (and means it every time), but somehow, they’re still there. Whether he's growling from the hallway or barging into the latest disaster, Boris only ever gets involved for one reason: to make sure the rent gets paid.

  • Meant to have a thick Russian accent, and the lines reflect that—but feel free to play around with it and find what feels natural.
  • Low pitch with a thick, growly tone—he’s got presence and volume, even when muttering under his breath
  • Gruff, curt delivery with sudden bursts of booming outrage; still capable of soft, reluctant warmth.
  • Moderate pacing; every word lands like a gavel, but never drags.
  • Pay close attention to the audition lines—brackets indicate tone, actions, or emotional context to guide your delivery.
  • What made you want to audition for this series—or for Boris in particular? We'd love to know either in the audition or description!

  • (booming, angry) CHARLIE! DOUGLAS! WHERE IS RENT?!

  • (slowly getting angrier) Tell me, do you see problem? You are several weeks behind! I am not running charity—this is business. No money? No apartment!

  • (cocksure) Ohoho! Look at you two—already going downhill and day’s barely started. You two start new job today, yes? I see you'll be making dramatic entrance—late AND in pain. Very on-brand! I give you one shift before you burn whole place to cinders.
