Kenji Tanazaki is a 31-year-old entrepreneur and the proud owner of one of the most popular bars and nightclubs in Yokohama. What started as a modest dream—buying an old, medium-sized business that was on the verge of closing—quickly grew into something much bigger. Kenji completely redesigned the place from the ground up, turning it into a lively, thriving club that became a local hotspot seemingly overnight.
Despite her growing success, Kenji has always kept her staff small and close-knit, valuing loyalty and professionalism above all else. Among her team, her most trusted and capable employee is Ace Hayashi, whom she considers her best friend—even if Hayashi doesn’t necessarily feel the same way.
At work, Kenji maintains a strict, no-nonsense facade, appearing low-tempered and intimidating to anyone who steps out of line. She intentionally projects this image to scare off troublemakers and protect her business. However, beneath that tough exterior, Kenji is actually a deeply sweet, caring, and slightly anxious person. Outside of work, it becomes clear that she’s easily startled by small things like spiders, insects, and even simple pranks. Yet when she's on the clock, Kenji suppresses her fears in order to be the strong boss her team and customers need—someone who stands her ground and defends those who can't defend themselves.
Kenji is also in a loving and healthy relationship with her girlfriend, someone she treasures deeply. Both of them are hardworking individuals who do their best to carve out time for each other amidst their busy lives. In a tender moment shown on Page 61 of the story, Kenji’s vulnerabilities surface—revealing a softer side that she usually keeps hidden. Her girlfriend, ever patient and gentle, never pressures her, only wanting Kenji to feel safe and loved. Their relationship is built on mutual respect, care, and understanding, providing Kenji with a rare source of peace and stability in her otherwise high-pressure world.
