I'm guessing this isn't your natural accent. If you can do an accent really well, go for it, but this one sounds like "putting on a voice". The difference, "putting on a voice" you're concentrating so hard on getting the sounds right that you get the feeling wrong. I think you would have done better in your natural accent. (Or if that was your natural accent, my apologies. Give it more emotion.)

    I agree, I think it's something about the yelling which makes the Scottish not work (and naturally I have an English accent, I'll retry it when I can if it'd help)

      Oh, if Billy Connolly yelled it in his natural accent, he'd have the part straight away. But yours didn't sound Scottish to my ear.
