Character / Melon

Melon is a very charismatic, dramatic, evil character. He acts like someone charming and hides his evil traits and nature behind a mask. He's a sociopathic, ruthless, and cunning character in the universe.

Song & Performance Style

The piece is a jazzy fast-paced villain song. Vocally, I'm looking for a highly character-driven performance that leans heavily into a "spoken rhythmic lyrics"/voice-acting style, rather than traditional singing.

The lyrics are fast-paced and spoken, so you should have excellent diction and a strong sense of groove! I'm looking for someone who can really play with the rhythm and make the words dance.

Some melodic sense is useful nonetheless (there would be some), however the emphasis is on embodying the character's cunning charm and dramatic flair through pitch inflection, dynamic shifts (menacing whispers, unhinged outbursts), and versatile vocal color.

Here is Melon, and here too, in the show's English version, though no specific voice style is required, a generic voice works well.
