Mara was the She-Ra who came before Adora, and her story plays a crucial role in unraveling the true history of Etheria and the Heart of Etheria project. Initially a loyal soldier of the First Ones, Mara came to realize that the power she wielded was being used for destruction, not protection. Brave, compassionate, and deeply principled, Mara defied her structure and the expectations placed on her, turning against the First Ones to save Etheria from being weaponized. She sacrificed everything—her freedom, her legacy, and ultimately her life—to hide Etheria from the galaxy and protect it from Horde Prime. Though often remembered as a “crazy” or “rogue”, Mara is later revealed to be a hero who made an impossible choice out of love and moral conviction.
