Many moons ago, when the great forests were naught but saplings and the hills were mountains that pierced the sky, our ancestors roamed the land. Great cats - tigers, lions, leopards-claimed the earth as theirs and ruled with pride and honor. But the ancient ones were not long for this world.

They yearned for the wild and the magic of the great cats to course through their veins once more. And so, these cats abandoned their twoleg masters and returned to the wild to live free once more. Shunned by the kittypets for forsaking their masters and by the wildcats for their severe connection to the ancient ones, the kitty pets banded together to face the harshness of the wilds. And thus the first warriors were born. They formed four clans: Crestclan on the wild-torn steppes.

And this, my child, is why I must leave you. Someday I hope you will forgive me and understand why I do this but the howling in the mist haunts me ever still. I promise that I will find you. I’m so sorry, my dearest little one. May you ever walk the path of starlight
