Cracked Mirror
Emme.Q for Hazel (Olivias Sister)
Hazel is Olivia’s older sister, by 11 months and what feels like a lifetime. Where Olivia is chaos and fire, Hazel is control and ice. She’s the dependable one, the achiever, the “easy kid” their mom never has to worry about. But behind closed doors, she is a completely different person.
Hazel sees everything. She sees the way Olivia spirals. The way their mom breaks down silently behind closed doors. The way no one in the house says what they mean. She’s tired of being overlooked just because she doesn’t scream. She loves Olivia — but she’s also angry. Angry at the way Olivia pulls all the gravity in the room. She's angry that she’s expected to be the calm, responsible one even while watching her sister unravel.
But Haley’s not heartless. She’s scared too. And underneath all the resentment is a deep, aching love for the girl Olivia used to be — and maybe still is, buried somewhere under all the pain. Hazel struggles with mental health issues with always thinking everything is her fault, and its not, olivia hopes that one day she will realize it's not.

1. Angry and emotional (during a fight with Olivia) “You’re not the only one who feels like everything’s falling apart! But you act like you’re the center of some tragic universe while the rest of us just orbit around your breakdowns!”
4. Defensive (when someone blames her for being cold) “You think I don’t care? I care so much it makes me sick. But caring doesn’t fix her. Nothing does.”
5. Vulnerable (alone, late at night, maybe in a whispered phone call or voice memo) “Sometimes I wonder if she even knows I’m still here. Like, if I disappeared tomorrow, would anyone notice? Or would the silence just… get quieter?”
